History of the trade union
On the foundations of solidarity and unity of INA-Trgovina workers, on June 12, 1991, INAŠ-Trade Union of Oil Activities was born. Our story begins in times of great change, when workers recognized the power of joint action.

Founding Assembly
On June 12, 1991, the Founding Assembly of the Trade Union of Workers of INA-Trgovina was held, with the aim of establishing a single trade union of Trgovina. The program principle was collective bargaining and the conclusion of a collective agreement.

During the war, the union focused on humanitarian activities and assistance to the displaced families of INA members and workers. We initiated the establishment of the INA Solidarity Fund.

Merger and transformation of INA
We initiated the constitution of the INA Trade Union Association and started collective bargaining. We have joined the Branch Trade Union of Oil and Chemistry (GSNIK) and the Croatian Association of Trade Unions (HUS). In 1993, INA was transformed into a joint-stock company 100% owned by the state.

Suspension of the proverb
Activities related to the collective agreement at the level of INA have been suspended due to the decree of the Government of the Republic of Croatia that limited wage growth.
-

The Labour Act and the new initiative
The Labour Act (application from 01.01.1996) was adopted, which introduced a contractual relationship between the employee and the employer. The first collective bargaining agreement.
On 28.02.1996, the first Collective Agreement was signed for INA, d.d. — also the first collective agreement between public and state-owned companies in Croatia. We have achieved a 40-hour working week, several days of annual leave, a salary base, a hot meal, holiday pay and Christmas bonus, and protection of workers' income.

Law on Privatization of INA
The Croatian Parliament adopts the Law on Privatization of INA (19.03.2002). We have won the right to workers to buy back 7% of shares under preferential conditions, with a discount and the possibility of installment payment.

MOL enters INA
The first phase of privatization — MOL enters the ownership structure of INA by purchasing 25% plus one share.
-

Name matching
Amendments to the Labor Act bring back the term "worker", so we change the name to INAŠ-Trade Union of Workers of INA and INA Companies. We won a social clause that protected against business-related dismissal for three years.

Expansion into the oil industry
We are opening the door to workers outside INA and expanding our activities to the entire oil industry. We started operating in Tifon d.o.o., where we soon became the majority trade union.
-

The second phase of privatization
MOL increases its stake to over 47% and becomes the largest shareholder. We organize protests and public warnings against changes to the shareholders' agreement and their consequences.
-

Taking control
Despite trade union opposition, the Government of the Republic of Croatia signs the Amendments to the Shareholders' Agreement and the Statute of INA is amended — MOL takes over the management of INA even though it does not have a majority share.

Today's name
We change our name to INAŠ-Oil Industry Union. In addition to Tifon, where we are the majority trade union, we are expanding our active activities to Petrol d.o.o.
